In our quest for web service optimization and page load times, we have deployed configuration to our shared servers to allow for parallel content file downloads and cookieless domains. Both items help to improve page load times. With parallel file downloads, the browsers' built-in limit for downloading from the same site is not as much of a concern. With cookieless domains, headers are not as large and as such some time is saved.
To use either item, all you need to do is point your content in your html files to css.domain.com, images.domain.com, js.domain.com, or just content.domain.com or static.domain.com.
