Mail Client Settings

Adding an email account to a mail client is typically the same procedure but will be located in different areas.  Some mail clients may do a auto configuration.  Please see our guides on setting up each mail client .

The following are general settings asked by most mail clients when doing a manual or advanced setup:

  • Incoming Server:
    • User:  the email address
    • Server Address: Listed on the Zimbra service page under "Server name" or "Mail server" address
    • Incoming port -- Depends on if you pick POP3 or IMAP in the mail client:
      • IMAP: 993
      • POP3: 995
    • Incoming Encryption:  SSL / TLS
      • The port should change to the ones listed above, if not manually change
  • Outgoing Server:
    • User:  the email address
    • Outgoing server: Listed on the Zimbra service page under "Server name" or "Mail server" address
    • Outgoing Server Encryption: SSL / TLS
    • Outgoing Port: 465

Our mail servers use standard ports and encryption options.
