Setup, Using, and Disabling of Two Factor Authentication

Two factor authentication helps to secure your account in the event that your password is compromised in some way. It does this by requiring something you know, your password, and something that is randomly generated and impossible to guess. Each time you login, you would input your password and input your authentication token.

To setup two factor authentication

  1. Login to your client area / account with us at https://u2-web.com/clientarea/
  2. Go to Account menu / menu with your name in it → Change Password → Change Security Question or https://u2-web.com/clientarea/?action=security
  3. Under Two factor authentication section, click “Click to enable”
  4. Read the introduction and click “Get Started...”
  5. Open Google Authentication, OATH Tokens, or another HOTP compatible app on your smartphone or a web service or application on your computer
  6. On the two factor authentication setup page, you should now see a barcode that can be scanned using your smartphone's app. If you are using a computer / web service, you would use the randomly generated key also shown on this page.
  7. Once you have entered the key or scanned the barcode succesfully, you will now be sync'd
  8. Click “Continue...” to test that the codes are generated correctly
  9. On your phone or other HOTP token generator, get the latest code and input it and click continue/next.
  10. You should now be presented with a “Successfully setup” message if everything worked as expected.
  11. Copy down the “Backup code” shown on the successful setup page and save it in your records. This ensures that if you can not generate a token, you can still get access to your account. The backup code is also a one time use token and generates a new one each time it used.

To Use Two Factor Authentication
  1. Login to your account at https://u2-web.com/clientarea/
  2. When you submit the password successful, it will ask for the current token that is shown in your HOTP generator
  3. Input the token and continue to login in to the account

To Disable Two Factor Authentication
  1. Login to your account at https://u2-web.com/clientarea/
  2. Go to Account menu / menu with your name it in → Change Password / Security
  3. Click “Change Security Questions”
  4. Click “Disable” under the two factor authentication section
  5. Enter your account password and continue to disabling
